Experiences of psoriasis and eczema in skin of colour

This project wants to explore the impact of living with psoriasis or eczema in people with skin of colour (SOC). It will explore people’s experience of diagnosis, treatment, well being, relationships and the coping strategies they use.

Psoriasis and eczema are two different skin conditions that can cause similar symptoms like discoloured skin, a rash and itching.  Both conditions present differently on skin of colour compared to lighter skin tones.

Results from this project will help inform future NHS research looking to adapt current diagnostic tools to address disparities in the management of psoriasis and eczema.

This research is being carried out by researchers at the University of Bath and Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust. It will contribute towards a Master’s degree at the University of Bath
