MoodMaps: CKD and depression

This study is looking to understand how people living with chronic kidney disease experience depression and psychological wellbeing, and the services and treatments available.

Findings from this study will be used to help develop future care.

It is being carried out by the MoodMaps research team based at King’s College London, the University of Hertfordshire and the University of Salford and is funded by Kidney Research UK and The Stoneygate Trust.


  • Aged 18+
  • Diagnosed with CKD (chronic kidney disease)


  • Receiving dialysis or renal replacement therapy (including having had a transplant)

Must be receiving renal care at one of the following hospitals, or their dialysis units:

  • Salford Royal Hospital
  • King’s College Hospital
  • Daisy Hill Hospital
  • Freeman Hospital
  • Lister Hospital
  • Southampton General Hospital
  • Wrexham Maelor Hospital

  • Taking part involves completing an online survey (approx. 20 mins)
