Motivate T2D: A remote study using technology to help increase your exercise levels
This study wants to find out the best ways to help people with type 2 diabetes increase their everyday physical activity to improve their diabetes control, particularly in the early months after diagnosis
- Diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the last two years
- Taking only metformin or lifestyle measures (diet & exercise) to control your diabetes
- Age 40-75 years
- Use a smart phone
This study is remote - you will need to complete health measurements at home, choose a suitable place to exercise and meet with researchers via Zoom
Complete 3 health tests and questionnaires at home over a one year period (tests include HbA1c , cholesterol, blood pressure, heart rate).
Monitor your physical activity for 2 weeks at home (equipment provided).
Design your own personal exercise programme with an exercise specialist and receive six months support with it
