INTELLIN:  A study looking at an ‘app’ to help management of diabetic foot ulceration.

A feasibility study to explore the implementation and acceptance of INTELLIN a novel health application on the management of people with diabetes who have recently healed foot ulceration


  • Diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • Had a recent foot ulcer that has been healed for at least twelve weeks
  • Use a smart mobile phone which can support apps and have a current email address
  • Willing to travel to Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust

Attending eight clinic visits over twelve months. The first clinic visit will last around ninety minutes and include a foot examination, giving a blood and urine sample, being asked about your medical history and shown how to use the App.

Follow up visits last an hour and will ask you about your lifestyle and use of the app.

You will also need to use the app for about ten minutes each day throughout the study.
